The monkeypox website makes freely available to the scientific community the first in silico digital archive with more than 30 3D files of virus proteins, pocket mapping data, and molecular dynamics simulations. All models are free to download to accelerate the identification of new drugs.

Together to tackle the emerging monkeypox outbreak

In May 2022 an atypical outbreak of monkeypox has been declared in the WHO European Region.

The Monkeypox portal’s mission is facilitate information sharing among scientific researchers by providing free access to the first updated and open repository containing 3D models of virus proteins and structural data for Monkeypox’s biological targets. Our purpose is supporting studies to identify new drugs, vaccines, and monoclonal antibodies. 

The Monkeypox initiative is a part of the Exscalate4Cov project, an EU initiated consortium making available to the scientific community structural and functional data useful in addressing pathogen caused health crises.
